how big are the black sand grain ? is it "play sand fine" or "Pool filter sand fine" ?

I'm interested if they're PFS fine.

The black sand is about the same size as pool filter sand, it's nothing like the sugar sand, it's much much thicker. I did not get a chance to talk to my contact today, but hopefully will tomorrow...I'll keep you all posted.

I have spoken with my contact on the sand deal, and he is asking me to hold off on this purchase for a while, I am not sure, but he maybe behind on his account with these people....I'll stay on this topic and get back when there is news....

Okay, I've spoken with the quarry yard where this is bagged and distributed, and it maybe available on Monday.

The problem is they want to sell it 30 bags at a time. This is too much weight for my truck. Is there anyone who wants to drive to Columbus with me to pick up 1000 pounds (10bags) of sand?

This is their medium grain black beauty sand from North Dakota. It's heavy and gorgeous.

Hopefully it wont come down to that....give this post some time....I would prefer to caravan with three trucks....10 bags a piece or 1000 pounds per vehicle...safety first - hobby second.

the bags are 100 pounds each, Columbus is off of I10 out past sealy, about 55 miles out to the west.

Would be a 2 hour trip minimum and cost about 25.00 in gas for the trip. approx.

PS...the price of the sand is 6.50 per bag - must buy 30 of them = 195.00 plus tax. 215 total plus your gas....I paid 350 for the last pallet of sugar sand delivered.

You keep one or two or three bags, sell the rest for 20.00 as i did or give it away...but you gotta consider your expenses to run and fetch it....

Well, I would love to have an extra pair of hands, thanks for the offer, but what would be great is for someone with a dually or flat bed or something that can haul over a ton.  Like I say, maybe three pick ups would be easiest??

First we need to make sure the sand is available and then plan from there.....I'll keep you all informed.
