I changed my water today and turn off filter. when water change was done, pump would not prime itself and now it just sputters a little and stops and when I hit the pump it sputters awhile and quits. any ideas anyone. 150gal with one 2250

You have to get the prime re-started again.
Do you have block valves on the discharge side?
If so, it would be easier to break it there.
On my 2250's I put isolation on the suction side so that my siphon is maintained when the pump is off.
I would suggest to you that either suctio or discharge has some kind of double block isolation below tank bottom so that you can restart your siphon.
If your suction and discharge lines are full of water and you still cannot get the pump to restart, your going to have to take the pump off and clean it...
When I'm doing waterchanges I do not turn my pumps off. I keep them running, but if I do I have the double block valves.

One of these days Geoff will break down and get a laptop with a Cell modem installed so he can work remotely or log on from home !!
I am waiting for Geoff to get a house... that alone is going to be fun :) Delock you know he is going to ask you to help him move 300+ fish and their tanks :)

Geoff.. you know I will be there to help you guys out.. I am an excellent driver, pick up food, drinks for the workers, supervising things dont break, sleep on the job and over all just someone who is there for moral support.
