Re: used Ehiem 2213 filter material
does it look like shedded paper strips, like when you place a document in a shredder? Â If so, that is supposed to be pretty effective media, I would hold onto it.
I forget the name of it, but it is hard to find and a bit on the expensive side...
I think it can be found at Foster & Smith and other online vendors....but for the life of me, I can't recall what it is called......someone???

Bio-Bale.
I'd keep it...Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Re: used Ehiem 2213 filter material
There are different kinds of filter pads buddy....there are the coarse ones used on lower levels and there are the fine or polishing pads used on the top layer of the canister, if your filter is blue, put it on top of the bio bale. If it is white, put in under the bio bale.

I think.....think mind you.....that the coarse filter pads go on the lower end of the canister, and the finer filter pads are to be used near the top....

Or in your case, just stick them in anywhere.... :PTruth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.

I use decorative lava rock from home depot on the bottom layer of my eheim, that round stuff that looks like coco puffs in the middle and I use two chempure paks on the top layer.....and anywhere there are gaps, I use that blue filter media that fishboyt used to sell. I have two bags of it.
