Mornin'!
I just replaced an old aquaclear 802 powerhead with a mag 7 in my wet dry. Big improvement! It is noticeably louder (hum) than the powerhead was, but I guess this is normal and that I will get used to it. I seem to remember my old Rio was louder as well. I also have an Eheim 2217 canister. This is on a 75 gal freshwater by the way.
Here's my question. I was told that since the mag 7 was pushing alot more water than the Eheim, and since it would be more convenient to change more frequently if it were in the sump, I should put my carbon in the sump instead of the cannister. He also recommended some media for phosphate removal.
Do any of you guys put carbon and or phosphate control in the sump instead of cannisters if you have both, and if so, what is your reasoning. Inquiring mind wants to know.
Thanks
