Well, like I mentioned above, I'm curious about the full tank water changes and how this affects an eco system ??

I would be cautious with Apisto's.
With my 100% water changes I keep my Pro-clear 300 cycling with a small pump in the sump and the 2260 and 2262 stays running as well. I also use a carbon filter to slow trickle the water back in on top of the use of Amquel+plus to keep from shocking the BB to death.700g Mini-Monster tankComment

I'll tell ya this... if I do more than a 50% waterchange in my tanks, my fish get really upset lol. Junkie, I use water from other tanks, preseeded media and fish that tend to be hardy.5.5 fw fluval chi - class N top bar snake chested endlers/ red marble bn/ 4 stripe RCS/ pumpkin shrimp
20 sw cube - a few damsels and a colony of bristleworms
29 fw - self cloning crayfish..which can't seem to clone haha
29 fw - mollies / albino bristlenose / ghost shrimp and snowball shrimp/ glo danios
29 fw - crs/ amano/tiger shrimp /assassins/ whiptails/ plants/ 3 emerald cories
55 fw - steatocranus casaurius (20ish)/ tetras/ rainbows/large Jack Dempsey
75 fw - large Jack Dempseys / pictus cat/ yoyo loach/ Red gippicep/ 10+" oscar/ parrotComment

I do a 100% water change every week on my betta tanks
So I don't need no stinkin bacteria

you can only do massive water changes if you run wet/dry 's. they do not affect the ecco system at all. because the wet/drys are over sized and hold massive amount of BB. i have over 200 fish and have only lost 2 or 3 fish in the last couple of years.200

Iam not running a W/D and recently upped my % to 90% a week and have a female holding going on day 5 (my gibberosa tank)
Iam leaving the other three filters alone and cleaning them once a month midweek thru the cycle.Comment

That's what I was thinking too....if you added to many harmful chemicals, you would kill off your BB, thereby making your tank unstable again....
