I bought manzanita wood from Dan last night and it's been soaking over night, but still is not sinking. Just wondering if maybe manzanita is not the type of wood to sink. I can make it work regardles, but wondered if I was wasting my time.

manzanita wood need to be soak for a period of time. Once water logged it won't float. -

Mine doesn't float
... it takes different amounts of time to sink depending on the individual piece.
