  • Leaking Eheim 2217

Bought a used Eheim just to discover it leaks at the body of the cannister where the return is. The return swivels I assume because of different set ups people have and might need that to move. Well, that's where my leak is and I was wondering if I could silicone it? It wouldn't swivel any more, but I'd hope it wouldn't leak either :(

Return swivel? are you referring to the bottom one?

If so then tighten it up a bit or remove it and put some teflon tape.

        That's the intake then.

make sure you don't over tighten it when you do and it should seal... just turn it little by little till it stops leaking and then give it about another 1/4 turn.

            "Torque to yield".

I got a well used tap & die set that says otherwise
