today he started acting weird. everytime i get near the tank he freaks out and swims around crazy. is there anything wrong with him or am i being paranoid?

was he like that before? how long have you had him? add a lil salt and stresscoat, and try keeping the lights off for a say a day or 2... you can also not feed him for that time, so then he can get real hungry, then when u feed him, he will learn to swim toward uComment

The other thing it could be is that he is protecting his space from invaders like you getting near the tank. I have seen large fish do that, you get close and they will swim around and ram the glass to kinda let you know this is his space and you are not invited.
