no carbon filter as of yet... The temp of the tank stays right about 80F. I feed 3x daily Dainichi Veggie Fx. I have been giving them shimp mix lately...and they are the only ones in the house eating it? Could that be it. I only give to them about once a day or maybe every other day. as for filtration...

I did a 70% water change and added epsom salt. I removed all the rocks in the tank just in case. Right now there is just fish and sand in the tank. its a 135gallon tank. I added 7 tablets at first. went to dinner and got home to yall recommending a full dose, so I added another 7 tablets. I will be gone this weekend...should I do a water change in the morning before I go or just leave the tank as is for the next 2days? I will get back Sunday midday and could do another dose then.

Each time you do a water change do the CLOUT medication. I would do a water change the morning you leave and dose 100%
Then when you come home do it the next morning do another water change.
Shrimp mix should be feed as a once a weekly at best.. its a treat... not a daily thing.
I would feed them next on Monday and see who eats.. only feed just enough to see who eats and who does not, not anymore than that.

will water change on Sunday when I get home. until then my bro will just feed them once a day.

the shimp mix is exactly like what was posted not to long ago from FshFrk. it has 1part raw shimp, 3parts frozen peas, spirulina, and just a slice or two of zucchini.

How fast do you fill the tank up when you do a 70% water change.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you are under filtered for someone doing that much water change.

That's a lot of stress on the fishes if you are just dumping the water back in.

                  baytown water too.
I ate my fish that died.

I just fill the tank back up with a python straight from the kitchen sink. none of my other fish have any problems with it, so I dont think that is the problem. the temperature of the water change only affects the tank by like maybe a 1-1.5 degrees F. The tank normally sits right at 81 and the water comes out at 79ish.

The water out of my tap here is about 3-4 degrees hotter than normal because of the summer weather. If your tankis not getting over 81 during a waterchange of 70% then water temperature is no issue.

When making the Shrimp mix always use fresh whole shrimp heads and all. If the heads are removed that's fine just make sure the tail has the shell and legs too if possible. The shell acts like a roughage.

I would stop feeding the shrimp mix you made with the peeled shrimp.

shimp mix is going in the trash...If I use the same recipe and replace the peeled shimp with whole shimp is it a good recipe? or just trash the whole thing and stick to pellets?

I cannot say if it is bad really, but I can say is that I have always made it with whole shrimp or headless shrimp that had the shell on it.

All the sites and reciepes I have read have always said use whole shrimp or shrimp with somekind of shell.

The shell is roughage for the fish that helps in digestion
