Sorry to hear the bad news about Jumpy. He sure was a fighter, but you did all you could do. It is hard to give up a pet.

Thanks for the support. I haven't had time to examine him like I want, but I'm pretty sure he caused himself some kind of damage when he jumped. His anal area is red which is not right. Makes me think he had some kind of internal bleeding.
Poor guy. He was so beautiful! Truly magnificent. And he made a really nice match for the other really large torpedo barb that I got.
As a good note, the other two torpedo barbs are doing well. They're beginning to join the shoal and they're eating now. So I think they're going to be happy in their new home.
I always thought that my torpedo barbs were pretty big (compared to what they were when I first got them), but wow, Jumpy and the other large one that did survive are really huge! The surviving large one has incredible colors. Very vivid red! I'm a little concerned about the ends of the tails of the two new ones that have survived, but I think it might be just age. The tails look like they have just the tiniest bit of shredding at the very tips. I'll keep a close eye on that. I have my UV sterilizer on in hopes that if there is something to worry about, the water will be free of parasites, viruses and bacteria. I may feed them a round of medicated food just in case.Vicki
