Got my first case of ick today. It's in my 10 gal tank with my neons and my blue Gourami. I'm using the salt raise the temp method I hope everything goes well.

ps. all the salt wont harm my plants will it?

I am not a plant person, but I dont think regular aquarium salt will harm them.

Do you know what kind of plants?

As long as you don't pile the aquarium salt on the plant it never harmed mine. Someone else may have a different story... but I didn't have a problem.

Well it looks like the ick won. All my neons died, my gourami and flying fox are doing fine. Ill keep up the ick treatment for a week just to be sure. It's a shame though the neons have only been in there for 3-4 days. That tank has housed my ebjd's for almost 3 months and I never had a problem.

Make sure keep H2O temp. warm....

i've been uping the temp. +2/day untill i get to about 89

Your neons may not die because of ick but because of high PH
neons do good in soft water just like discus

that's true but they came from a tank that was just as hard & high ph as mine.
