HITH and dying eel

wow what a nightmare, my fire eel is upside down gasping and when i noticed him i took a closer look and several of my prized geos have early signs of HITH...i treated the tank with metro and aquarium salt and the eel will be dead any minute i suspect...this is such a miserable experience....i know what killed the eel too, my water change on friday had a huge 6 degree drop in temp and i didnt notice until after. The geos most likely had HITH from the LFS due to the poor conditions they were in...UGH i know the eel is done for but i hope i can fix the geos, i caught it early

thanks man, yea that fire eel was my first fish in my 90g and i LOVE my geos...ugh i even tested the temp of the water before i started filling....i guess it fluctuated while i was filling the tank

oh man!

keep dosing with metro and do wc's.

since you caught it so early i think the geos will be fine, the damage incurred may even heal.

hith is a very common disease in geos.
i would test your water just to make sure.

How fast did you put the water in?

I try to flow my water into my tank from the carbon bottle as slow as I can so the temp change don't shock them.

ya, i knew the eel was gonna die....i fill my tank up on full blast
