  • Any place local to buy a microscope?

I need a microscope to make a diagnosis of certain fish illnesses, but cant seem to think of a place where I can pick one up around Houston. I checked online at all the major stores like Walmart/Sears/Toys R Us and the only ones they have worth considering are online deals only, and they arent very good anyway.

I dont need something a doctor would use...but I really dont want a toy either.

Any ideas? Or I guess Ill just have to order online "sight-unseen" no pun intended.

    Thanks,

    Matt

Already looked....nothing of interest on Craigslist...just a couple selling for $150 that are probably worth half that.

Ebay has a TON but I was hoping to find a place local I could walk into and maybe see it before I buy it.

General Lab Supply in Pasadena on Preston.

          281-487-0633.

Tell them that Weston/Danny recommended them.

              real enough?

for the 'young scientist', but i just got this one at Fry on I-45 for $15:

Buy Edu-Toys Mini Videoscope: Microscopes - Amazon.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases

it is lit and has lens precisions 10x, 20x, 30x, and 40x.

and with a screen you can photograph what you find :)
              is 40x high enough?

Try Land, Sea, and Sky in the River Oaks area near Shepherd and Alabama. They service the microscope at my work.
