Anyone know if a fish can regrow their tail fin if its been destroyed by fin rot? One of my discus had a bad case of fin rot and his tail fin is like half its normal length. He appears back to normal just with a short fin.

Usually they can regrow if the damage is not too extensive. I'd say that yours has a 50/50 chance of regrowing it completely. The more damaged the fin, though, the more likely it is that it won't grow back, or that it will grow back a bit deformed.
This is just from my personal experience."Millennium hand and shrimp!"

Any solutions on making it a quick recovery?

I've had fish that regrew the rays fully after severe damage. Lotsa water changes and good food should work for you.
MarkWhat are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? have had a couple trophs in the past with there tails right down to the stumps, melafix and frequent WC's,did wonders,i couldnt pick them out from the group now................melafix is all natural,so you dont have to worry about it playing with your biological...............hope that helps a bit

I have always preafered almond leaves. but whatever floats your boat. If you can stop it before it gets to the body you have a good chance of regrowth but with scar tissue. Trim it even with a razor blade and it will look OK.
My old Breeder Bettas fins were so long they could not swim and two weeks ago I trimmed them in half with a straight razor blade and treated them with bettafix (dilute form of Melafix) and today they are swimming and making googily eyes at the girls. They will grow back but not as long and as beautiful as the orignals.'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
