perfect timing on this... the one that is a bit fatter does not seem to be getting better or worse. I did find another that appeared to be healthy previously doing the death roll on the bottom.. Tonight i removed both fish and put them in a QT tank and treated with metro. I also did another big water change and treated the main tank with metro. This is the last of my metro now tho. The guy i usually get metro from is not speaking to me anymore so i guess i will have to suck it up and pay LFS prices for more. I do however have 2 clout pills that Chad had given me quite some time ago and i had forgotten about them. I was about to ask what everyones experience with clout was so that i would know if it was safe or would work. I looked online and clout says nothing about curing bloat. I also needed to know the dosage. It says one tablet/10 gallons. So i will do a WC on the 5 gallon QT tank in the morning( provided the fish are alive) and treat it with half a tablet of clout. I will have to hit the LFS for more to treat the 90gallon tank.

ARGHHHHH!!!! Im getting so frustrated.. I thought it was just about over.

I will take some pics of the bloated fish and the one thats doing the bottom roll tomorrow. FYI... the one that was rolling does not appear bloated tho. at least not visably.

ill be over today dave, myswell bust out the clout as a last option, that stuff is rough on them, hate it,why you cant use it on scaleless fish, and i hope you dont have clear silicone or it will be an ugly blue buy the time your done treating,if indeed its just bloat, metro should be all you need,if its parasites,prazi.................................

you can alievate the blue stain by having a higher pH and performing the waterchanges during the treatment. If needed perform 50% every other day if silicone is your worry.

Any silversided fish or scaleless fish should not be treated wth CLOUT.

I have used CLOUT on ectodus and not had a problem.

With the silver sided fish, you need to dose 1/2 strength, then sometime later dose the other half.

In fact with any silversided fish, any med should be taken easy until you know they can handle it.

As time progressed I was able to fully dose the Ectodus, but I have read several accounts where challochromis, paracyps, and some featherfins have died while full dosing CLOUT.

The blue stain/color comes from the Malachite Green component of the medication. It's function is to kill free floating bacteria's, and external parasites.

The metro component of the med is for the internal infections and parasites.

The other meds contained in CLOUT are more catalyst and stabilizers than anything

well... lost two more..another 2 wont eat and are looking fatter. I pulled the dominant male from the tank... i think he was too aggressive. The atmosphere in the tank seems a bit better now... so hopefully i wont lose any more.
