Anyone ever deal with Sudden Death? One of my discus decided to mail it in. He was fine this morning coming up to the glass ready for breakfast. Then I get home and he is laying on his side with black blotches (bruises). No appearance of disease or attack. My water parameters are NH3 0 NO2- 0 and NO3- 5.0. pH is 7.6 and temp is 84 its been steady water conditions. I have no idea what the cause or how to determine what it could be.

I can only remember one such an occasion .... i had a red shoulder peacock for a few months, no problems with aggression with other tank mates or anything else, then one day i come home and hes dead on the sand

Chalk it up to RFD for now. Sometimes fish have problems that suddenly manifest for no apparent reason. Write in to House and see what he comes up with. If someone else dies then things aren't so random.75 planted (Being Renovated)
