that definately helps. I am 100% sure that the reason my fish are swimming "funny" is because they are going up to the surface, gulping air and then holding it in their mouths. I've done the Epson salt, no lights and no food now for 2 days and they are still doing in. I just dont know how to make them stop gulping air from the surface. As soon as they release the bubbles, they swim around fine for a minute or two and then, as if they've formed a habit, rush back to the surface. Its irritating as he11.

I wanted to mention "float" to you a couple of days ago.....but I didn't want to ring an alarm on an issue that I have only read about . I personally have never dealt with Float so I don't like to "pass on" information based on what I've read..instead of actual experiences . But I've heard of Float a few years back on Cyphos.com and if my memory serves me correct........I think that most of the people who had it...... cured it with Epsom salt..no food... and "no lights" method . You might want to do a search on Cyphos.com and pull up some old threads .

That is some crazy stuff, but it worked. I dont know if I could have done that to my fish.

Im gonna keep em in the dark for 2 more days with no food and more salt. I think they'll be fine.

What are you feeding? Sorry if you mentioned this somewhere previously, but I can't remember.

I don't know about the "gulping" behavior when they're not feeding, but when feeding, try to make sure the majority of whatever you're feeding is sinking before they eat it. Goldfish get this a lot if they're fed floating foods, and the remedy is to feed sinking pellets from then on, usually starting with frozen peas and/or epsom salt.

I watched the video. My fish had a very small bulge but the way it was swimming was exactly like mine. I think I caught it early enough to where the Epson salt fixed it. I'm still keeping them in the dark with no food for the rest of the day just to be sure. I'm gonna do another water change today and add some more salt and we'll see how everyone is doing in the morning

I read that some where. I'm feeding them NLS Thera A+ and Dianichi XL Pro. Both are sinking pellets and my fish are so skiddish that they hide when I feed em. They come out and eat after I've walked away.
