  • Read This before posting about sick fish. Thanks

When posting in this forum we want to know as much as possible about the problem.
Examine the fish closely and describe the symptoms and any unusual behavior. This is a lot of information and while not all absolutely necessary, it will help to make a more accurate diagnosis and make it easier to determine a plan of action. It's easiest if you just copy the items below into your post and answer what you can.
    .
    Tell us about the fish:
    .
    1)Which fish have what symptoms:
    2)What medications have been tried:
3)When they were introduced to the tank, did fish from where they came from have symptoms:
4)Numbers, size, and types of fish in your tank:
5)What, how much, and how often you feed:
6)How much water you change and how often:
    .
Tell as much as you know about the tank and equipment:
    .
7)When was the tank set up:
    8)How many gallons:
    9)What's your water temperature:
    10)What's your ph:
    11)What's your ammonia level:
    12)Hardness level:
    13)Type(s) of filter(s):
    14)Anything else we should know:

Re: Read First - What we need to know to help

I would add a few more.

how old is the fish food ?
    What is your water source?
if tap water what chemicals does the local water company use ?
if well water have you had it analized ?
if you use RO water have you added anything ?
Have you used any chemicals to clean or repair the tank ?
when was the last time you did a water change ?

what kind of music do you play for your fish ?
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
