  • More Oscar Bumps

Seriously... WHat is up with my Oscar? I've done water changes and added aquarium salt and it is not getting any better! THe other one seems to be unaffected by whatever she has!

The picture on the right is a few weeks ago and the right is this morning.
She eats and fights and acts normal but looks BAD!!!
Any suggestions on how to cure this?

Oh my Gosh! Okay, this is going to sound weird, but if you have some Vita-Chem, start soaking her food in it before you feed her. If you don't have any Vita-Chem, crush up some Vitamin C in some water and then soak her food in that before you feed her.

My giraffe cat got some bumps/sores/blisters/whatever you want to call them on his face a while back and I contacted an aquatic vet. She suggested the Vitamin C (I used Vita-Chem) and it made the bumps go away. They flare up every once in a while, but the Vitamins appear to be keeping it in check. I think it's viral.

This is my thread from a while back. http://www.houstonfishbox.com/vforum...t-What-is-this

Thanks so much. I"ll try that. Whatever she has isnt' affecting the male inthe same tank with her at all. When this started I thought she just had a nick from their spawning - they get real rough! But then it kept growing, etc.

      I hope it works!

Yes it is gross and it just keeps getting worse! I have tried the fungus stuff but it's not helping. when she opens her mouth it looks like it is a tumor or something because you can see it! I wish I knew a "fish vet" that would come get her and figure it out! I'd give her to him for a research subject! LOL! Still open for suggestionsl
II'll try the monster fish site.

You can do a search at http://www.aquavetmed.info/index.cfm?PID=6 to try and find an aquatic vet. Some of them list contact information and you can try to contact one. They may or may not help, but it's worth a shot.

I'm going to try the Vita Chem - I haven't done that yet. I have a new issue with them though - my 120 gallon busted last night and I had to emergency move my fronts and parrots in the 100 gal with the two oscars. Not a good day here!
