Does any one know if geophagus do better in larger numbers or if it doesn't make a difference. I made a trip to fish land this week end and bought two and they were doing good all my africans but today i woke up to find an injured geophagus with an eye missing. Only other fish i think might be caussing a problem is some small blood parrots i got along with some africans from a guy that couldn't keep them no more.

I would say they're not likely to do well at all mixed with Africans, as they're too passive. I think you'd be better off keeping them in their own species tank, and all of their other tankmates should be South/Central American as well.
