Does a dead fish with an open mouth give any indication to his possible death, i had a small demasoni die this morning and he had an open mouth, previous to this his tail had ben nipped and he was just chilling close to the a bottom hole of a holey rock and he was very inactive but did come up to eat when i fed them.. i thought he was just playin it safe until he recoverd, this morning his body showed no further sign of aggresion

When you lose an entire tank of fish and all mouths are open, it's definitely hypoxia (lack of oxygen), but when you lose a single fish, there's a chance that it just died with it's mouth open. Or it could have had a problem with it's gills. If the other fish are behaving normally, I wouldn't worry about an oxygen problem. But if the rest of the tank is gasping or staying near the surface, you'll want to add some powerheads or air stones or something to agitate the water surface.Our Fishhouse
