Uhh i think one of my tropheus has the infamous bloat disease, its not eating and is off to the side of the tank... should i remove it to a seperate tank or do a big water change?
(tropeus dubioisi)
Both . I would move it to a hospital tank and start treatment with Metro or Clout . Also , I always like to keep the hospital tank covered or in a very dark area . As for the rest of the group.......I would perform a water change...add a little epsom salt......and reduce feeding a little bit . Monitor...monitor ...monitor both tanks .
I disagree treat the whole tank IMO don't separate the infected fish this is what is have done in the pass and it has always worked for me
Stop feeding, remove carbon, cut lights (it helps calm them down and it relieves some of the stress on the colony) crank the temperature up to 78.
1st day, add metro as indicated (1tsp/150gal.) and salt 1tbsp/10gal.
2nd day: no feeding, don't add anything.
3rd day: 50% water change, add metro and salt
4th day: nothing
5th day: 50% water change, add metro and salt
6th day: nothing
7th day: 50% water change, add metro and salt ...by now one should be able to start feeding lightly again
