  • Fungus on Manzania wood?

So I saw this real fine wispy fungus type growth on one of the pieces of Manzania wood I have in my Tanganyikan tank. They are barely visible and appear as fuzzy spots in the photos. They are about 1/4" long and come off quite easily when you rub them off, they come off in chunks and float away. Should I worry/do anything about it?

Thanks for the reply! That's very good news for me because I was expecting the worse.

So it was harmless to the fish? And did it keep coming back? Thanks.

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Not new, got it from a fellow boxer join the sale section. Does that have anything to do with it? Maybe it will quit sprouting after it stats sinking.

I'm just happy it's harmless to fish because I just finished stocking the tank.

I spot treated it, so it popped up in new places, and I'd just scrape it off. I upped my water change frequency, too.

it's fairly common, just keep rubbing it off, it will go away, its not harmful,

Thanks guys! I'm just going to let the issue resolve itself then. I don't mind it so much now that I know it's harmless to the fish.
