  • HELP!!! Little white worms

I have a newly setup tank, and it's been running for over a week now. I was just looking close and I see alot of small pin worm looking things in my tank. They are so small that I can't take pictures, but I've never encountered this before. Anyone know what this is and what to do? Thanks

Plenty of info on these worms. Just search. I think they like uneaten food.

I've seen threads on here, but I've googled info on these guys before.

They are called planaria. They are from overfeeding. Just cut back feeding to about once every 2 days and do good vacuums

Mogan, now I remember who had this problem last. It was jwh0818 I think. I think he had a thread on it.

There is also a chemical you can use that has a copper base in it. It kills inverts so if you have shrimp or any inverts in the tank then it will kill those too. And from what I hear if you use it, your tank is no longer suitable for inverts

I haven't had any fish in the tank. No food, no fish.

Did you get the tank used from someone? With substrate or not?

Okay thats where you got planaria. I would buy some rosie red minnows and throw in there. Dont feed for 2 weeks. But only buy like 3
