  • Long stringy critters on Blue Crawfish

My blue Cray has little worms attached and hanging off.
The self cloning group has none and they have all been together for a couple of months....with no problems...nothing live has been introduced.
It reminds me of anchor worms....but i have never seen any this closely...
They are def attached... and have a mind of their own... and are driving my blue crazy has he whips around to see what it touching him. Suggestions?

I saw one picture online which closely resembled what I can see on my blue cray. They look like animated thick hairs....but not much thicker than that. I am strongly considering a better filtration system. This tank gets quite a bit of natural sun so there is algae in the tank but otherwise well established....and I have been underfeeding on purpose... to make them scavenge any leftover which might be in the tank. I guess A good tank cleaning is in order before the girls berry up...it's about that time.
            Thank you so much

Sounds normal even though I have never had it happen before.....guess it proves I am SOOooo NOT normal hahahahaha
They aren't necessarily considered bad unless they inhibit the cray's ability to function normally. Sounds almost symbiotic in a way. They are slightly fascinating to watch....

Oh, ok I can understand the symbiotic part, there's a lot of that that goes on without us ever noticing.
