Damn. You're the smart on figuring out the active ingredient LOL. Now I see what you see and I think I saw it at CP as well. Microbe-lift Lice and Anchor Worm for one has cyromazine. TY Bee. Tell me what others you saw.

Lol well looking at active ingredients tends to come with the territory, being in the medical field. So not all that smart after all.

I don't remember the brands I saw, but I know that I didn't much like the ones I saw at Xtreme. Try FG because they have one brand that claims to treat anchor worm and just one other parasite. I noticed the active ingredient on that one was cyromazine or whatever the chemical construction of that is. It's on the shelf in the front room right under the shelf with all the big light fixtures.

I saw it at CP for sure. It said it treats conditions caused by anchor worms and lice and I took that to mean that it doesn't kill the parasite, rather just treats the symptoms. Wiki says that cyromazine can be used to treat ectoparasites including copepod crustaceans: link1 link2

This might be it. Easy to get and effective.

BTW, what are your thoughts on Copper Safe?
I'm probably late into this discussion, but..Potassium Permanganate is a recharge product for Iron filters..Ace Hardware, Summit brand..big jug, will last a lifetime..I'm a large user..7.6mg/g..3/4 gram for a 100g..disapates rather quickly to brown or yellow with a big bioload....

I don't know of any place in Houston to buy PP, but you can get it from e-bay. I just ordered an oz from some guy. Arrived within the week perfect and dry for $4.50 w/free shipping. 1 oz of PP in 13 oz of DISTILLED water makes a 7.5% solution. Solution will last for at least a year if kept cool and in an opaque (no light at all) container. One drop per gallon = 1ppm, so 1ml (20 drops) will dose a 10 gallon tank to 2ppm. One teaspoon will dose 50 gallons to 2ppm. I need to take my package and get it weighed on really accurate scales to verify the amount before I can mix it up though. No room for error with PP.
                DOWNSTAIRS display tanks:
                20g - 1 yellow Glowfish, 1 long-fin Danio and 3 Cherry Barbs
37g - 3 Zebra Danios, 5 Red Serpae Tetras, Dwarf Flame Gourami and Red Tail Shark
10g - single male Betta (daughters responsibility)
                UPSTAIRS research/quarantine tanks:
10g - mosquitofish tank awaiting rebuild
20g - heavily fake planted housing 8 Dwarf Gourami RIP Blue, Flame and unnamed
20g - empty tank with beautiful black Tahitian moon sand
                10g - hospital sterilized and dry :-)
5.5g - fry tank with mosquitofish born 1 Mar 2012

When was the last time you bought some? They treated me like some kind of nut when I went in there asking about PP. Never heard of it. Can't get the Kenmoore stuff from Sears hardware anymore either.

Acually, back in January..My Ace changed to 'Do it Best', and they thought I was crazy, but..I explained that crazy had little to do with it, and to look it up in their order catalog..Voila!..there it was, they ordered it rather red-faced..same brand..

but if you are dealing with a minor problem, I'd probably use Trichlorfon myself...(Anti-Fluke Lifebearer)
