  • Stream tank disaster

so woke up this morning excited about my fish coming. New fish aren't here yet so I was looking at my stream tank while waiting. I notice a dead Hill stream loach is dead. Than another and another then panda loaches all of them dead.

Only thing I have added is driftwood and a crypt. so all the drift wood and plants are out. Rocks and sand only from now on.

I am treating the tank with meds and the survivors are already looking better.

So all my favorite loaches are gone.

That's weird because I got that piece of DW with two other pieces which are in my 210 with no issues. In fact, this piece was in my 210 for a couple days with the other two. Wonder what it is

May not have been the driftwood...
Had you recently done a water change? I've lost entire tanks of shrimp due to the water co. monkeying with the water.

Yea Did a water change... I just programed my water filter to recharge and programmed to do once a week.

I am not taking any chances. all the drift wood had some funky fungus on it this morning. So I took it all out... so I have a ton of drift wood for sale lol.

Got my new fish they are all healthy and hungry...

I am fairly sure it was the water. My MUD is doing some weird stuff with the water. Gonna call Hague and have them check my filter and test the city water. I hope the cartridge isn't messed up.

I am sure it is the water because drift wood that had been in there from the beginning was covered in some fungus

Chances are, the fungus can be cleaned off and you can use the wood again.

I want that piece back if you decide to let it go Nick.
