    sorry to hear this bee, hopefully you will be able to give it some time and reconsider the sale. selling the tank wont mean that you will just forget about the loss. recreating it into something more beautiful might.

                      That's terrible. I'm really sorry to hear that.

                      Does anyone know what could cause something like that? I just bought an Aqueon water changer and started doing big water changes, and I also live in the med center... makes me think twice about keeping it up.

                        Chloramines and chlorine possibly? Houston has this thing for messing with water. If you live near the med center, I'd suggest getting a carbon bottle or else stick to small water changes.
