  • clown knife with deterioration and cloudy eyes

I have like a 10" clown knife that i have in quarantine tank...his eyes got cloudy 1st and then his body started deteriorating and he stopped eating. I started daily water changes and using the bacterial infection stuff and he is back to eating and the body deterioration has gone away. I have been doing this for 4 weeks but his eyes are still completly white....pretty much sure hes blind , scar tissue mabe, or still diseased...will this go away should i keep doing chem treatments and is it safe to put him back in my main tank without it spreading to my other fish because hes in a very small tank now...

I would keep up treatment. Make sure water is top notch and then after a week or two you should be able to move it. The cloudy eyes shouldn't transfer to the other fish as far as I know.

If he will take shrimp, I would suggest using freshwater Vita Chem and garlic to soak them prior to feeding. Continue with very active water changes, keep Nitrates below 20 ppm and hopefully far below that. Vita Chem is a great supplement to have onhand and is very effective at providing added nutritional content to hard to feed predators. With this sort of large predator though Nitrate poisoning can lead to comprimised immune systems and eventual infections. Dilligent water quality will eliminate these issues.
