Started to notice that there's about 6 dots on the little guy. Never dealt with saltwater ich before, yet alone ever seen it in my freshwater tanks. I increased the temperature to 78-80 range and did a water change. I'm worried about adding chemicals due to tank size.

Re: Spotted Boxfish has Ich
Opposite of hyper is hypo. Lowering the salinity. No clue if that'll work. I've never dealt with saltwater ich either but I heard cleaner shrimps eat ich and other parasites.
I've got your peppermint shrimp!

There are debates on wether or not fresh water dips are worth trying. I can say from experience that I have had success and failure with it. It is hit or miss in my opinion, but if it comes down to no other options it might be worth trying. Again, WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS! Hope you get it solved.65G African Tank (1 Ropefish, 1 Senegal Bichir, 3 Spotted Climbing Pearch, 2 Black Calvus "Zebra", 1 Featherfin Cat, African Knife, 2 Upside down Cats and an African Butterfly Fish.

Spotted Boxfish has Ich
I go with do nothing but try to figure out the cause and eliminate it. WC and good food go a long way. Medications aren't a sure thing and sometimes treatments can be added stress that will ensure death. When I did no treatments I never lost a fish to ich twice when I did I lost fish and one of those times it was my whole tank.

Best course of action is to leave the little guy alone. Some people believe that ich happens when fish are stressed, I'm not sure it's as simple as cause and effect, but i would believe that stress makes your fish More susceptible to disease and illness. Medicating will cause stress to any fish, plus box fish are fragile fish to begin with.
Best thing you can do is just ensure his environment is as perfect as possible and let the little guys own immune system try to deal with it. If you do decided to medicate, please please please don't use formalin (formaldehyde) the line between kill and cure with that stuff is so darn fine in most cases the medication will kill the fish before the disease

Make sure he is eating and if he isnt try using garlic or foods with garlic to entice him to eat and make sure the food has vitamins or you can also dose vitamins as well.

This is starting to really bother me. The damn fish would be rid of ich one week and the next week, they would be back, rinse and repeat cycle. Any ideas to why? The clownfish is immune to this. Should I get a sand sifting goby to eat the ich that falls off?

They are notorious for getting Ich. One of the more sensitive species in that regard. All I would recommend is watching the parameters and temps. Anything outside of almost perfect results in Ich or so I have heard. Many regard their whole family as one of the harder salt water species to keep. Basically a SW puffer with stricter demands. In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
