  • Death of a Friend

Over the past few weeks The puffers have been acting funny. not eating right and sluggish. I pulled all the other tank mates and plants. Started bringing the salt leaves up. started with 2 spoons per 10g and upped 2 spoons a week. still not a big increase. Limon and Line started acting right pretty Quick But Boot passed away this morning.
My Wife is going to be upset. She really does love those fish.
    Boot.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I understand. It's hard to lose a fish you get attached to, but there is something special about puffers. They just have so much personality. What kind of puffers are they?

        They are Fig8 puffers.
They are my Wifes fish. She makes fun of me and my fish but I know how much she loves them. So I know how sad she is going to be. I hate to see her Sad...

Replace the puffer with the most identical looking one you can find. Hopefully she doesnt notice.

The probblem with that is every Fig8 is like a finger print. There are no two alike. He was named Boot for the boot shaped spot on his head. Also is the only Fig8 that had a spot under his mouth. I have ever seen. Finding Fig8s isn't that easy. To find one that looked like Boot impossiele.
And I would never lie to my wife. She feeds them and they let her pet them. She knew something was wrong befor I did and I should have acted sooner.

Really I never lie to my wife. I sure that is what you were asking.
She had a few tears but took it well. Now I know how much she really loves her fish. I am just going to wait and see what she wants to do. Limon and Lime her other 2 fig8s are still her babys.

Almost any puffer will not look the same. They each have a unique but similar (in a sense) pattern.
