Albino shark Open sore from Leproninus attack HELP!

Got a 2 and a half inch albino redtailed shark he got attacked by a couple Banded Leproninus. I know this because he was fine until I dropped those jerks in because of the havoc they caused in my 40 gallon breeder housed 3 albino tiger barbs 10-15 assorted guppies and a bunch of ghost shrimp and a peacock eel until I had to move him because of them. I should have moved the jerks in the first place because the eel eventually died anyway. Anyway I was wondering the best method of healing this poor little guy. I put him in the 40 because he was hiding behind my H.O.B filter inverted all the time and he had a massive wound on the right side of his body behind the dorsal fin just in front of the tail. I moved him into the 40 about 5 days ago I changed the water added a little salt to encourage healing. He is doing great just the wound has got redder and not smaller. So I started a Melafix treatment today. Is this the correct course of action am I screwing up. Will Melafix kill my Ghost shrimp or my bristlenose pleco? Would love tips don't always have access to a computer please send me a text if you'd seriously like to help me or just a reply would be appreciated. Shark Minnows are nearly bulletproof. Melafix is a great start and the salt should help a bit. Just watch your Nitrates and keep them below 20ppm and it should be fine. Leporinus can be very aggressive fish and something I have fielded numerous questions about. They do best with very large tankmates in large South American systems. Pimelods, larger characins, and larger gymnotids are all good tankmates.

The Melafix is all natural, so it should not harm either your ghost shrimp or your bristlenose. Ghost shrimp are a bit tricky though, so watching water conditions and any predators in the tank would be my concern. Try hunting for some Amano or Vampire shrimp as they get larger and are a bit sturdier in a community type setup.

armthehomeless(Tim) sells vampire shrimp at Homeless Aquatics. Fish Gallery may have some as well, and I am pretty sure Fish Gallery sells Amanos. Houston Aquatic Warehouse had some Amanos last weekend. I am not sure of the LFS around your area though.

Fish Gallery, Houston Aquatics usually have Amanos. Fish Gallery and Homeless Aquatics both have vampire shrimp (Homeless Aquatics is listed under retailers), though they are a bit pricier. Very cool shrimp that I think you'd be happy with.
