I think your problem is your filtration . You stated that you normally have two Eheims on the tank but one broke so therefore you basically lost the bio in that filter. So now you have just cut your bio in half plus you cleaned the remaining filter . This would explain the presence of Ammonia in your tank . I think that your new filter just doesn't have enough established bio to cover your fish bio load . You should have taken the bio media out of the old filter and either put it inside the remaining filter or just tossed it into the tank . Either the way you would have preserved the beneficial bacteria . So with that said.....your tank may be experiencing a mini cycle . So until your tank can balance out ....you'll have to do daily water changes . Unless you can borrow some media from the filters on your other tanks.

Sorry...i just re-read your post and you didn't say that you had a second Eheim running on the tank . I still think that somehow something effected your bio media . I still believe that your tank is going through a mini cycle..hence the presence of Ammonia .

Yes I'm sure there are no dead fish just removed all decor and cleaned all waste again.
Is there a chemical I can add to help with bio load and how often should I do water changes? Daily?
I am finishing a 50 percent change then will rest later tonight. How long should I wait to test?
And this weekend is soonest ican get the other filter addressed... Unfortunately

Over feeding can upset the balance imho. Maybe feed every other day instead of daily id that's what you're doing.
I wouldn't stop the water changes, keep on top of it. The only way to stop pollution is dilution. I've dune 100pc changes a day when I had ammonia spikes. 50pc before I went to work and 50pc after.
Only thing I can say when using meds and additives is add an airstone or something, I lost fish using additives. When I added the airstone that stopped. I guess additives/meds can take oxygen out of the water.
Maybe the guys are right and you need a second filter.
I'm pretty amateurish when it comes to most guys here so I may be wrong, just throwing my 2 cents out there. I've been there done that with water issues and feel your pain.

Hey guys,
Unfortunately I haven't been available to update recently so here it is. As much as I would like to have good knews I don't..
I got my other eheim 2260 up and runnin with my 2262 since last weekend. My ammonia is at 0 and has been since Sunday. (I've inly had that one reading of .25 when I first started this thread. Still unsure why.) nitrite is also reading 0 with 7.6 Ph.
The problem still lies in my nitrate. It's at 80ppm and I can't get it to budge at all. Was doing daily water changes till Sunday when I started a treatment of prazipro. (Did as much of a water change as I could before treatin the tank) unfortunately so far the prazipro hasn't helped the condition of my fish as they are still battling te same symptoms as before. (One has also passed since last update)
My EBJD who I thought was getting better has now started to not eat as he grab te bloodworm cubes and spit them back out as he does with other variety of foods. Also en turning on my light today I noticed my biggest EBJD's eye is puffed out with a white ring around it. Have also noticed a white lining inside his lips/mouth and his scales seem to be pushed out in some places and even one lose on his side as if it peeling....
I am very unsure why the nitrate in my tank will not reduce at all and what disease/parasite I'm battling here but so far it's winning...
Here is a pic if the puff eye an if you look close to the picture on his side you can see the lose scale.
Please help anyway you can, all help will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
