Bacteria live in your filter and substrate. There is very little in the water after cycling. I wouldn't ad any at this point. Let it clear and your good. It could be just the picture too. As for setting up new tanks. I use extra media from my wet/dry sump filters. I always have an empty tank with filters. The media is in my wet/dry. To set up. I pull the media out of the W/D. Put in it's filter. Add water to the tank. No cycle. It is pre cycled. Easy to do set up new filter on old tank with its old filter still running and the new filter will cycle in half the time. It would tell you on the box what size of tank the air pump is good for. Personally I like power head, so I don't have to mess with air pump and air tube. But if you can't have too much current in the tank, air pump is a better choice because power head would produce a lot of current.010G Long fin BN grow-out

What size power head for my 75gal? I do like the idea of no air pump, tube...
