I'm sad no one is excited for my video! Lol

Anyways, it is now installed but I had to move a lot of gravel in the back so the suction cups would stick to the bottom of the tank. Now the water looks even cloudier than it did after my huge water change a few days ago. Could it be a matter of things needing to settle back down to the bottom of the tank or does it sound like a bigger issue? I'll do the water tests soon to make sure the levels are still good. I also added the 2 new pieces of driftwood, which are still a little floaty but have stayed put so far. Let me know what you guys think and don't be too harsh on this newbie!

I tried to get some video of one of my inspector Plecos, the camera sucks on my phone and wouldn't focus. If you guys are interested I can use my real video camera this weekend and upload better video.

    Enjoy!

usually takes a few days like ptran mentioned to clear up. sometimes new pieces of driftwood can also tinge the water color. using purigen in your filter is a great polisher for the water.

Oh, that update. It has cleared up some since last night, but still a little cloudy. I just ordered some purigen too, so hopefully that will help. I'm going to monitor it over the weekend, but all the fish seem happy and have actually been swimming around a lot more since I installed the bubblers!

I'm sure they love to play with bubble and extra oxygenated water.

the purigen works better in a canister, but i still use it in my HOBs until i replace them.

good to hear the bubblers are working out. the fish do get more active with the oxy rich water. little more of a current too

Hmm, that drift wood will make it cloudy (like tea color) for some time, while it leaches tanning into the water. But I'm starting to think the main reason for cloudiness is that your filter is not matured and fully cycled. Can you tell us again what filter is running on your tank? If I remember correctly, this tank has not been set up that long.

Yeah, I read that about driftwood so I boiled it for a few days. I had to flip it a few times because it was longer than my pot was high. Then I soaked it in my tub for about a week until it sank, but it didn't turn the color of the water in the tub. The tank is about 2 months old now. The water was actually looking good but then I did the big water change and used a gravel cleaner. Is it possible I sucked out all the good bacteria? I have a hob fluval 50.

I'm with Ptran, I think it's still cycling. When I first got my 30gal I would clean it like crazy and had all kinds of problems until someone told me that I was cleaning so much that I was disturbing the bacteria. I cut back some and things got better. It was an established tank that a friend gave me but I was cleaning everything all at once. Filters, gravel, wiping glass..you name it I cleaned it. LOL I probably would've given the fish baths if I'd thought to. LOL

I think my Brichardi tank clouds up because I clean a bit too heavily. I bet it's been running for nearly 30yrs. I'm the 3rd owner.
