    I don't usually use carbon but I had some in the new AQ110. A miracle happened and I remembered to remove it. LOL It's so much fun getting older. LOL

    I guess I'm just not used to the rough housing, missing scales, lip locking bru ha ha antics. For many years my tank had been so peaceful with only the parrots doing their ritual lip locking before laying eggs. Big Blue is healing very well. The red is gone.
    Right now he's back swimming at the top left side of the tank which has been his spot since he was about 2" long. One of the female peacocks has taken to hanging with him and he doesn't seem to mind. I'm happy again.

    cichlids are very resilient fish...chasing/rough housing is a way of life. adding more territories wont necessarily make more turf wars happens. when i added more into my tank, they essentially all took turns rotating in and out of the new areas for a few days. never biting just trying them on for size. all balanced out quickly. they usually stick close to their "home base" so to speak.
