Malachite green

I have read a few articles on concerns that this medication for fish may not be available in the future.
I did call kordon company and asked them if it was true. That this product would be off the market in the near future.
The lady that returned my call was someone important in the kordon business.
She flat out said No. There is no threat of this product being removed from the public.
I then asked why only in 4 oz bottles, she said something about good marketing. I understood it as the bigger the tank the more you would have to buy. She also went on to say if this product was going to be outlawed anywhere she would be one of the first to know.
So I hope it's true and I did feel better. I do believe this is a good product when used properly. That means stick to the instructions.

Malachite Green kills ick real well.

Gotcha. I have never heard of it.

Yes. That is because it hard to find. I do believe that kordon has another brand called( rid ick plus) that has the malachite green in it with something extra to help the fish go through the process. I have not tried it yet but I got some coming in the mail.

I love maracyn for getting rid of ich. Last time I tried the heat/salt method. If I deal with ich again it will be maracyn.

Really. I haven't heard of maracyn. Is that the name on the bottle?

I did not use the salt method because I have plants. But now I have a full hospital tank. I will try the heat and salt if I run into this problem again in the hospital tank. Depends on how strong the fish is.
