Sorry to hear about your fish. I would probally bury him. I think he's too big to flush and throwing him in the trash just dosen't seem right. Again, very sorry. :(
When I had a fish that big, I would filet him and put the head & back bones in the crab trap.
Smaller ones we put in the pressure cooker and fed to the cats, bones, scales & all.
