Re: fin defects?
Hmmm...I have one Troph fry with the same defect. I just chalked it up to aggression, but now that you are seeing that same thing I think I need to start researching....I'll let you know if I find anything. Our Fishhouse

Re: fin defects?
I don't think it's too many w/c. I think the cleaner the water, the better.
There was a post in the Troph and Petro forum recently that discussed Wild Caught vs. Pond Raised...maybe there's some good info there....Our Fishhouse

Re: fin defects?
If they have white tips I would think it's due to aggression?
I'm doing 70% water changes and just recently I have been toying with 90-100% water changes......Got about 3 batches of fry just spit and havent' noticed any defects like you are witnessing John, also using the carbon bottle.
These are the ones on the Puppy Chow/NLS mix right?700g Mini-Monster tank

Re: fin defects?
A couple of the dorsal fins look like they have been seperated. (see first picture) In this picture, the front half of the dorsal is pressed against the body, but the second half is not. Personally, I think it is from aggression due to the fact that several other fish have nipped fins (second picture). I don't think the fins from the first fish will ever fuse together.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
