DIY... Magnetic Intake/Output tube holders.

Anyone out here making some themselves?
I got some of these... Zoomed magclips. and they suck big time on the 3/8" glass and for the use of holding my 1" 2262 intake tubes.

I have used Neodymium magnets for frag racks and such on my reef tanks and they are super strong for their size!

I plan to get some 20lb pull force magnets and make my own with some resin and clips. Will probably have some extras as well if anyone is interested.


Wanting to see if anyone is already doing this to save me the trouble.

I am thinking the DC2E which are already epoxy coated and then I plan to set them in some Acrylic resin.

What will you be using them for?

Harbor Freight shows to have some for $1.99 for 10 but not sure of the pull weight. I had planned on going to check it out this weekend to possibly save on shipping and maybe cost.

Dude... You will probably have to use a few of these magnets in one block. Should have told me cause there were some magnets that are massive and would have worked.

Got the magnets in and started to cast the first intake and output magnet holder. Kinda pissed cause I used some crap that a few reefers suggested which I got from the crafts store but the next one I'm gonna make I'm using the resin I got from work.

Finish with my first magnet mount.... little rough and not a clear as I wanted but I removed it too early being how eager I am to see it and got fingerprints all over it.

Still getting use to the resin and the release agent but so far so good!
