Has any one tried this as compared to the Durso Pipe

I made that exact one and it works great. I had a Durso pipe but couldn't get it quiet. The only thing I hear now is the water going into the wet/dry. Now if I could rid of the humming noise from the Mag 7 pump, I'll be doing good.

The only problem with that one is that it slows down flow a bit....I did that on my 30g cube reef tank since the overflow was narrow and the durso would not fit.
