I am in the process of building moon lights for my 55gal tank. This is in no way a finished project. I assume it will continue to grow more complex.but for now I am using 4 blue 2600mcd leds that run off of 3.7-4.5v. I used a small project box to house a pushbutton on/off switch as well as a 10k-ohm potentiometer to dim the lights. I have taken apart the factory hood and mounted the led's in the plastic shield for the floresent bulbs. I ran the wire out the back next to the factory power cord and put a power conector on them so they can easly be attached to the project box and or removed for matnence of the tank. All parts avalible at your local radioshack. It is a simple design and easy to do. Requires basic solderind and electronics knowledge.
