Hey all, I have some questions maybe you all could help me with. My tank is 48 1/4 long, 20 1/4 tall, and 12 3/4 wide, i'm having issues with tops fitting on it properly. thats the measurements with the plastic braces, everytime i get 55gallon tops, glass or plastic, they dont fit in the areas for them on the plastic braces. They're always off by maybe an 8th or something. i need to see if anyone has any good, cheap ways to shave some of that off? i did get a dremel, but i didnt pay much for it and it didnt work out too well lol so im trying to see if anyone has any other ideas. it does have a center brace, and last time i purchased glass tops for it, they were off on both sides :( i just want a top that fits in easily! anyone got any ideas or had similar problems ?

Different manufacturers produce tanks with slightly different dimensions.
If you get the glass cover or plastic hood from the same manufacturer as the tank, they will fit. The other option is to go to your local glass shop and have them trim your stock covers or cut you new ones.
