DIY sponge fliter kinda..
my dad thought this up idk how but he did and i made it

10 gallon ~ ghost shrimp breeding (fish treats) haha -

I may be looking at your picture wrong, but shouldnt the bubbles be forced up the tube? If the sponge is attached to the bottom of the tube and the air bubbles "pull" the water up the tube, water will be forced through the filter more efficiently, right?
