Update - It seems that one of our females was pregnant when we bought it for the science project. I came home to find guppy fry in the tank today about 2-3 weeks before it should have happened if they mated after we got them.

The good news is that the divider seems to have worked perfectly. I don't know for sure how many total fry were born because it happened when I was not here, but all four that were in there when I got home ended up on the fry side of the divider wall.

I had a problem with surface "goo" on the fry side due to the absence of surface agitation, so I added a small amount of air to remedy that problem. All things considered the design seems to be working very well. My only regret is that I did not use a 10 gallon tank.
      Jarrod - Houston, Texas
150 gallon - my African cichlid monster tank (I know it isn't a big as yours)
17 gallon - Threadfin rainbows and corys lightly planted
5 gallon - planted red cherry shrimp breeder
3 gallon - planted red cherry shrimp breeder
