Filling in drilled holes on a tank

I am looking in to buying a 125gal tank for a very good price, the only problem is it has 4 holes drilled in the bottom and i dont plan on using them. has anyone had experience filling them in, or where to take it to be done.

Matt just use a square piece of glass or lexan and silicon 1 to patch it from the inside.

My one attempt to silicone plexiglass to an aquarium was a failure, but I have used both 4" x 4" ceramic tile and 1/4" thick glass cut for a 1" overlap on both holes and cracks and they both work well. Just make sure you don't use the silicone with mildew inhibiter in it as that will kill fish.

Awesome, seems kinda obvious now that i think about it. for some reason i was only thinking of patching it from the outside, this makes things alot simpler, especially since i already got the extra 1/4in glass and silicon.

You have to patch it from the inside. Not from the outside of the tank.
Now what I would do is make sure that when the tank is sitting on the stand you have four holes where the holes are in your tank, then install bulkheads in there with plugs installed.
This way should you sell it or anything else like it in the future and the next person wants to use the holes.. well all he / she has to do is unscrew the bulkheads and they are ready to accept a canister filter.

cool, would lowes or homedepot have bulkheads. or do i gotta go to a plumbing supply?

yep. sticking a patch on it will work for sure, but i have to agree. if you spend a few bucks more ( it will be leakfree and easier to get rid of )

+1 When I picked up my 45 gallon tank that i was making in to a sump it had been drilled and patched like this and it hold water just fine. But not very pretty.
