  • Just Another DIY Egg Tumbler...

Been wanting to do this for a while now but finally got around to making my first egg tumbler so i thought i would share the exerience and show the inexperienced how i assembled it. very easy and only took about 15 min to assemble.

i started with a clear plastic fluorescent bulb guard. can be found in the lighting section of HD or lowes.
and fiberglass screen like you would use on windows or doors.

First I cut a 4" section and a 1 1/2" section off of the clear plastice tube

Then trace around the tube onto the screen to get a template and cut two circles out of the screen.
    (pic 1)

Using super glue, glue a cut out piece of screen to one side of the 4" piece of the tube. Then glue the
1 1/2" piece of the tube on top of that screen and glue the second screen cut out onto the very bottom.(pic 2)

TIP: A quick dip into water will 'set' super glue and allow faster drying

    Next take a 1" to 1" sch40 threaded adapter and a 1" threaded plug. (pic 1)
Drill a 1/4" hole in the center of the cap an then drill multiple smaller holes (i used 11/64 bit) into the top and sides near the top of the cap. Then hand tighten the cap onto the adapter. (pic 2)

Last I also super glued a suction cup to the side of the egg tumbler to keep it in one place in the tank.

Now just place the PVC piece's into the top of the egg tumbler insert hose through the larger hole in the center of the cap, attach to an air pump and watch it go!

it tumbles pinto beans pretty good....

I think it can hold 20 plus no problem.

Think about how big a fish's mouth is. Just got to get that flow going.

yeah i'd say 20 max but that would probably hurt the flow
