Waterproofing lumber for stands

So, what do you guys use to waterproof your diy tank stands?
I'm trying to put together a fishroom in the garage and i'm not sure if i should just go ahead and get pressure treated lumber or just get normal lumber and waterproof it myself.

I'm looking at the ingredients in treated lumber and it has all sorts of nasty sounding chems... like some arsenic compound and stuff.
On top of that, it looks terrible.

if there is some sort of stain / waterproofing that you guys can reccomend, it would be grrrrrrrreat!

Kiltz sealer works good.

i used non treated pine 2x4s and regular wood stain on mine.15 years,no problems.

i usually just paint mine black....it will last at least long enough for me to change my fishroom designs and redo everything anyway. I get bored and change it quite often..(usually as new tanks mysteriously appear).

I was going say the same as Davesolo -- paint and prime the stand and water stains will not set..
