I found the clear silicone 1 at lowes (the Atascocita store).   It was several months ago, but it was a 4-pack for $10 sale.  They also had it in single tubes for 3something a tube if I remember right.

            Re: DIY styrofoam background attempt

I've been running around like crazy the past few weeks (sick, miserable, and pregnant wife - self explanitory), so this project is still sitting in the garage, waiting. I'm pretty sure every time I walk by it mocks me.  I'm also pretty sure the turtle is working on some WMDs or the like to use on me for taking so long.

Oh well, best laid plans of mice and men...

However, when I finally do have some time (this weekend, maybe ??) I think I will be "modifying" the original project.  The plan is to add a second ledge on the other side of the tank at a lower level so the turtle has a place to hang on while sleeping.  I have procured a larger tank so I should have the extra room.

If said modifications actually occur, it should get documented well.

Has anyone else tried this before? I am thinking about doing this but dont know how feasible it is since I live in an apartment. Also do you have to glue the pieces to the tank? What if I dont want it later down the road how can you take it off?
