  • 200g repair questions

I just got a 200g donated to the school I work at because the bottom is cracked. I have heard that I might be able to fix it by sandwiching the broken pane between two sheets of Lexan. The aquarium is a marineland deep dimension (48"L x 36"W x 27"H). My fear is that with 200g of water ontop of it the Lexan will flex and completly break the glass causing 200g of saltwater to flood the front entry of my school. However because of our budget the Lexan will be a much better choice instead of a new sheet of 3/4" glass for $500. I have also thought about using Lexan on the inside of the aquarium and either a thicker more rigid poly on the bottom or even a sheet of plywood for structure, and possibly a brace going across the width. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated since I have never done a repair before.
